Materials collected by an active area industrialist and public servant nicknamed "Mr. Oshkosh." Steiger's duties in the city over the years included president of Deltox Rug Company, president of the Pure Ice Company, president of Community Chest, director of the chamber of commerce and city council member. His outside duties included trustee of Ripon College, regent on the UW Board of Regents, and Wisconsin Electoral College member during the 1952 Presidential Election. He was born in Fremont in 1896 and died in 1985 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Collection includes newspaper clippings, biographical information, personal papers and correspondence.
