  • Scope and Contents

Ink and paper cartoon illustration (13.75"x11" ) used as the cover of the May 5, 1969 issue of "The Blade" alternative zine.  The cartoon, drawn by artist "Goldie Hash" (likely a pseudonym) represents President Roger Guiles and  Vice President Ray Ramsden as space heroes, "Rocket Guy and Ramjet Ramhard" respectively atop a sleeping dragon representing the student body (labeled "stoned".) The captions have the pair congratulating themselves of finally pacifying the dragon.  The cartoon refers to the months of conflict following the November 21, 1968 protest known as Black Thursday.  Also included is a copy of "The Blade" zine that featured the cartoon.
